Our baskets are handwoven by ladies from the Buhera in the South Eastern part of Zimbabwe. The economy of Buhera District depends mainly on farming, the main crops being maize, millet (mhunga) roundnuts (nyimo) and groundnuts (nzungu).
Traditional Buhera Baskets are hand woven made of local grasses from the Buhera district of Zimbabwe. This area is well known for its remarkably rich plant diversity. The baskets were traditionally used to store and carry grains.
Since each Buhera Basket is individually handmade and vary in size, colour and shape, giving each basket a unique character!
